Winter Warmth Accessories with Shug ...

Walked to a “stealth” site near my home in an early cold and freshly snowed on 15º day. Cooked some lunch on my terrific minibulldesign mini-atomic alcohol stove. Had some cocoa in my DIY hammock (I love my hammock!) and yakked about some of my favorite and essential winter accessories. Set up the hammock in “real time” … 1 min. 30 seconds! Wrist warmers, gloves, gaiters and beanies are all touched upon. As usual …. I prattle on and act like a galoot. All secure in sector seven!

i just came across your vids and there the best. your a funny guy and make staying out in the freezing cold look fun! im thinking about hammocking and a tarp cause at the min im a tent kinda guy. i like to have walls around me it feels safer and cosy but this looks a blast. keep up the great work.

thanks alot! i really like the dutch clips you have and the toggled whoopie sling, im not adverse to mixing and matching, weight isnt that much of anissue as im a tent convert, and ex mil so there wasnt really an option for “lightweight” on our excusions. just being a newb i saw its was 10.5′ x 5.2′ and shaped differntly no ability for modified doors? or horizontal rain? i really appreciate these vids. winter hammockery looks a blast. thanks for your time ‘n effort shug. CeDD

@CasevacDevilDoc I don’t have an ENO but folks seem to love them. Personally I don’t like the suspension they come with and there are lighter hammocks. Guess it depends on if your a backpacker or not.

  13. CasevacDevilDoc

hey shug, havent watched this one yet but cause im like a fat kid on cake with these if i dont ask now ill prolly forget. hammockology seems like a blast. you said mid range for for a good base line. how does eno (eagle nest?) rate? from what im seeing prices are from the 40-80 range via ebay to retail. im a reliability and long term then light weight guy. do these make the cut? thanks in advance. Rah! CeDD

@ChefBoyJL Go to tothewoodsdotnet and look under “Homemade Gear” scroll to the bottom and you will see “How To Section” How to make a hammock.
    That is what I used.
