@cyclist01222 Thanks for watching and the kind words.

These external frame packs are great. You should put up some more reviews… you are well suited to it. Nice job and thanks for the sub.

@MrKazoozles I need to get out with that pack! I tried last week but I did a Bushcraft car camp instead up in the San Jacinto mountains. We base camped at 7900 feet and practiced primitive living skills for a few days… I have a few 3 day trips in the works soon. Oh and lots of video ideas to do. Thanks for watching..

Still would like to see a detailed pack review, if you have time. Thanks.

@jeratzlo Thanks for the post. Great info!

I have used Kelty external frame packs for years, and love them. (tried an internal frame for a while but went back to the external). I like the way they hold the load up high, and away from my back. I use the largest size kelty stuff sacks to compress down my tent and sleeping bag, to get the bulk to a minimum.

For a long time I used the Super Tioga. Recently found a 50th anniversary backpack used. It will likely be the last one I purchase. Awesome pack.

@wilsona12 The pack is working out great! It carries a huge load I have to be careful not to over pack it. Out of all the packs that I own non of them are water proof.. If your out there in the elements long enough your stuff will get wet.. For that reason I use dry bags for my clothes and any other item I don’t want to get wet..

Do you still like this pack? I think I read that it is not waterproof – did you buy a cover also?

  9. wingman115

I purchased mine at REI.com and did the free shipping to a local store for pickup.
